Latest ICVB Visitors Guide Out Now

LONDON (15 June 2015) – Istanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau (ICVB) has published its Istanbul Visitors Guide aiming to offer a different experience for visitors to the city. The guide contains sections on history, entertainment, accommodation, shopping, eating, drinking and the arts for a city that last year welcomed close to 12 million tourists. It is designed to appeal to both congress delegates and general visitors as an indispensable guide to Istanbul.

This detailed guide to Istanbul showcases the city’s must-see historical sites, museums and events as well as its history, entertainment, accommodation, shopping, eating, drinking and the arts. The most widely circulated guide to Istanbul, it offers visitors to the city a wide range of alternatives on how to spend their time there.

The newly-designed Istanbul Visitors Guide, with a circulation of more than 100,000, is also available as a user-friendly mobile application and will be distributed at trade fairs around the world, ICVB member hotels and high-profile congresses thereby reaching readers both in Istanbul and around the world.

ICVB’s General Manager Ozgul Ozkan Yavuz says of the mobile application: “We have launched our new Istanbul Visitors Guide with a user-friendly mobile application which is the first of its kind. In a guidebook format it brings together a world of information in digital offering a whole new experience to readers. Prepared in a downloadable format, the guide can be used without an internet connection. We have added a QR code to it allowing users to browse ferry times, get information about events in the city from such websites as howtoistanbul.com and find directions from their current location in Istanbul or to be directed on to relevant websites. The Istanbul Visitors Guide is available as a colourful application with audio, video and moving images and a QR code marking it as an alternative media channel providing much more choice for travellers.
