FINAL FIGURES CONFIRM NEW RECORDS AT IMEX AMERICA 2015
Final figures just published for the fifth IMEX America confirm that the trade show broke many significant records.

According to statistics now available on the event’s website, IMEX America 2015, which took place in Las Vegas from 13 to 15 October, attracted a total of 10,732 industry professionals. These included 3,030 hosted buyers, an increase of 4 per cent on 2014. They represented 54 countries with 26 per cent from outside the US and Canada, notably 5 per cent from Brazil, 3.5 per cent from the UK, 3 per cent from China, 2.5% from Mexico and 1.5 per cent from each of Germany, India, Argentina and Australia.

9 per cent of them represented associations, 21 per cent were corporate buyers, 62 per cent were from incentive houses and agencies and 8 per cent were independent planners.

The show also attracted 2,053 trade attendees from 69 countries, an increase of 7 per cent year on year.

The data also confirms that the number of prescheduled one-to-one appointments and booth presentations had risen by 7 per cent to a record 57,000 while there were also 9,700 buyers at group appointments. 51 per cent of meetings had profiles attached, another new high.

Michael Friend from Superior Meeting Services in the USA explains:
Having the opportunity to meet everyone in one location is great. It allows me to maintain relationships and take things to a whole new level. IMEX is also an excellent opportunity to experience first-hand what’s going on and what’s new on the horizon. When it’s all here, under one roof, I can really take care of business. The global presence at IMEX America really shows how far the industry has come in bringing everyone together.

Figures also confirm that this was the biggest ever IMEX America. Overall booth space grew by 5 per cent compared with last year’s previous record. There were 3,100 exhibiting companies representing 150 countries and 80 new booths.

Paul McDonagh from the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority adds:
“The quality of buyers has been good and we’ve met decision makers for both incentive and meetings business. This is one of our key events each year and always proves to be a good investment.”

Association Day & Evening

NEU: Wellness-Bereich auf der IMEX – „be well at IMEX“

Powerful start for IMEX in Frankfurt – Biggest show ever for 2014

Powerful start for IMEX in Frankfurt – Biggest show ever for 2014

Frankfurt, May 2014IMEX in Frankfurt opened earlier today in Messe Frankfurt’s Hall 8 with the announcement that the leading trade show for the international meetings, events and incentive travel industry has grown again in 2014. New stands, stand increases from existing exhibitors, the biggest education programme ever and the scale and diversity of the hosted buyer programme are the defining features of this year’s exhibition.

64 new stands join the line up of 3500 exhibiting companies on the show floor while over a third of previous exhibitors have increased the size of their stands on 2013. Growth from various regions of the world testifies to the meetings and events industry’s growing appetite for the appointment-driven trade show, with an 11% increase in space taken by Asia Pacific exhibitors, 5% increase from Latin America, an 8% increase from the USA and 3% from Europe. Strategic partners, the GCB German Convention Bureau, are hosting over 230 exhibitors on the show’s single largest stand, F100.

Rising numbers, growing sectors
Continuing a trend seen over the past few years, the cruise sector has grown this year with three new stands joining the line-up of cruise companies keen to maximize their share of the meetings, events and incentive travel market. Similarly the continuing growth of technology advisors, suppliers and product innovators is demonstrated in a 20%+ rise in technology exhibitors. Other sectors with a larger number of exhibitors at this year’s show include airlines, car rental companies, catering services, entertainment services, conference venues and hotel resorts specialising in golf, gaming or skiing.

IMEX Opening Crowd New hosted buyer groups
20 new hosted buyer groups, the majority of which represent long-haul markets, add to the number of hosted buyers expected at the show this week. New services have also been introduced to help buyers make best use of their exhibitor appointments and business meetings at the show. A spacious new lounge for hosted buyers has been constructed to take account of rising numbers. It has double the seating capacity of previous years and features a new concierge desk, information counters, diary and boarding pass printing, mobile phone recharging plus an interactive floor plan and new food outlet. changes have been introduced to accommodate more buyers in the halls and also to allow the many thousands attending to use their time more efficiently and in more comfort.

Hallmark preshow events swell buying power
Among the hosted buyers taking part in important preshow events, and staying on at the show over the next few days, are over 300 association meeting planners from yesterday’s annual IMEX Association Day. In addition more than 80 senior executives and meetings buyers from the corporate sector also took part in the show’s latest niche education and networking event, Exclusively Corporate @IMEX. The corporate buyers represent 20 industry sectors and 21 countries. Together this powerful group brings a joint annual meetings and events buying power of $180 million to the show.

The IMEX professional education programme has also increased in scope and size in order to service the industry’s appetite for professional development while meeting the needs of rising numbers attending the show. This year’s programme is 25% bigger, with over 200 workshops, seminars and campfires being delivered by 132 speakers and industry experts. The GCB’s German language Seminartage programme will again offer German language education every day, including morning keynotes by high profile speakers. The programme is also delivered in the same eight-track format as the show’s English sessions.

Other German education includes a ‘Future Trends Clinic’, which is run by Veranstaltungsplaner, a leading association of German event planners, plus guided ‘IMEX Tours’, organised by MICE Club. The tours start by giving small groups of German visitors a short education session based on a theme from the recent GCB ‘Megatrends Report’ and continue with a guided tour of exhibitors and IMEX stands on the same theme.

Leisure travel leaders in cross industry dialogue
The presence of two leaders from the world’s leading leisure travel bodies, Mr Taleb Rifai, Secretary-General of the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), the United Nations Specialised Agency for tourism and Mr David Scowsill, President & Chief Executive Officer of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), signals further strengthening in the authority of IMEX and its Politicians Forum. Their attendance at the Forum, and at the show today, represents a significant milestone for the IMEX Group, which has consistently pushed for greater and more open dialogue between the leisure and meetings, events and incentive travel sectors since it launched 12 years ago.

Newtonstrand Innovations and Invisage Creative Services announce Working Partnership at IMEX

June 1, 2012

Newtonstrand Innovations Limited, a global technology solutions provider, and Invisage Creative Services, a design and technology agency based in Australia, announced a joint working partnership to bring more creative technology solutions to the meetings and events industry worldwide.

The two companies have made an agreement to work closely together to bring more innovative technology to software provided by Newtonstrand for the meetings and conferences industry globally, as well as bringing these groundbreaking products to the Australian meetings and events industry.

A key reason for the alignment is the conviction of both companies that future generations of event-goers will continue to drive drastic changes in the way events are run and a joint understanding of the need for more creativity and interaction – before, during and after an event.

Requirements for meetings and conferences are already changing in terms of the format of an event and the need to extend the life of clients’ events. Both Newtonstrand and Invisage recognise this and will bring their knowledge together to jointly research, develop and deliver products and services to the events industry globally to improve the overall event experience for all attendees and key stakeholders.

Newtonstrand, with 10 years of experience in the technology and meetings industry creates the most powerful and interactive meeting “experience” for conference delegates. Solutions include digital poster displays, live broadcasting, and structured networking with Chance2Meet, post-event virtual solutions, interactive voting and speaker-audience technology as well as Chance2Speak – an innovative “open-stage” platform for all delegates to speak at an event. Shuli Golovinski, industry visionary and CEO of Newtonstrand commented “Newtonstrand is extremely pleased to be working with Invisage and to have signed this agreement. We are excited with this opportunity to bring our solutions to the Australian events industry in a much bigger way and to work closely with new clients in this region, and with Invisage, to create more innovative and progressive meeting experience solutions.”

Invisage Creative Services, a design and technology agency with 19 years of experience in the Australian events industry has been providing creative services to the meetings and business events industry since 1993 and has a true passion for delivering smarter events. Darren Edwards, founder of Invisage, stated “Our objective is to connect people through the supply of creative design and technology services. It is our vision to perfect the event experience and deliver creativity, leading-edge thinking and technology solutions for meetings, conferences and exhibitions around the world. With this new partnership we are able to support our existing network of industry professionals including PCO’s, meeting planners and back-end service providers with new and innovative solutions for their events that we were not able to before”.

Invisage Creative Services support products include graphic design, mobile event apps, email marketing, event cloud solutions, online social event networks and website development. Their list of services is extensive and includes anything creative for events which fall in line exactly with what Newtonstrand aims to provide and continue to innovate through their technology software.

Future events will offer interactive hybrid and virtual solutions so that participants from any industry can search online for topics that they are interested in and virtually interact. These solutions will not replace physical meetings as we know them, but will continue to enhance them into more creative events for a wider audience. Â In addition, changes are already taking place in events to allow more interaction and involvement and this trend will continue to grow. Newtonstrand today offer solutions which allow participants to actively speak up on a topic of their choice by way of an “open-stage” speaker platform via its Chance2Speak system – everyone with a voice becomes the expert. In addition, their Chance2Meet system allows structured networking breaks at an event which offers more than the standard networking breaks or supplier-buyer meetings that we are currently used to. Any product which allows for engagement in this way will offer a more targeted and engaging experience to all participants and produce networking possibilities unheard of in today’s events.

Together with almost 30 years of experience in providing creative products and services for the meetings industry, Newtonstrand and Invisage will provide their clients with powerful tools to enhance their events to meet the expectations of today’s younger attendees as well as staying at the forefront of revolutionary solutions for the next generations.
