This year’s IAPCO Collaboration Award will be presented during the ibtm world Meetings Leadership Summit which takes place on the eve of the opening of ibtm world 2016 (www.ibtmworld.com).

Recognising that a successful event is also dependent on the collaboration of a number of partners, this award is open to PCO’s who are IAPCO membershttp://www.iapco.org/awards/collaboration/.

Creating ibtm world every year is a team effort and involves many partners who we rely on to collaborate with us to produce the best possible event, so we are delighted to be giving over the stage during our annual Meetings Leadership Summit to the presentation of this award by IAPCO. The ibtm world Meetings Leadership Summit is an exclusive invitation only networking event held every year prior to the first day of the show. Some 200 international industry leaders will enjoy a themed evening which this year will take place at one of Barcelona’s iconic venues.

The deadline for submissions is 31st July 2016 which will be followed with a short-list and final judging will take place in October. Some of the industry’s most influential thought leaders will be in attendance, so it is great promotion for the winning company and ibtm world’s Meetings Leadership Summit is a perfect setting for this award,” added Sarah Storie-Pugh of IAPCO.

Online mitstimmen: Wer gewinnt den Meeting Experts Award?
Preise in fünf Kategorien werden erstmals bei der Meeting Experts Conference (MEXCON) vom 11. bis 13. Juni 2014 in Berlin vergeben – Veranstaltungsbranche stimmt online ab

Frankfurt am Main, 22. Januar 2014. Die Organisatoren der Meetings Experts Conference (MEXCON), die vom 11. bis zum 13. Juni 2014 zum zweiten Mal in Berlin stattfinden wird, laden die gesamte Veranstaltungsbranche in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz dazu ein, sich am Online-Voting für den „Meeting Experts Award” unter http://www.meeting-experts-award.de zu beteiligen.

Erstmals im Rahmen der MEXCON 2012 öffentlich vorgestellt, wurde der Award während der greenmeetings und events Konferenz im Februar 2013 bereits in fünf Nachhaltigkeitskategorien verliehen. Bei der MEXCON 2014 steht am Abend des 11. Juni im neuen CityCube zum ersten Mal die Vergabe in den fünf übergreifenden Kategorien auf dem Programm. Verschiedene Verbände und Unternehmen haben die Patenschaft für die Awards übernommen: In der Kategorie „Veranstaltungs-Location” der Europäische Verband der Veranstaltungs-Centren e.V. (EVVC), die Agentur Speakers Excellence in der Kategorie „Referenten, Moderatoren & Speaker” sowie das GCB German Convention Bureau e.V. in den Kategorien „Kongress- und Tagungshotel” und „Eventagentur, Professional Congress Organizer (PCO) & Convention Bureau”. Für den Award in der Sonderkategorie „Veranstaltungsplaner/Einkäufer” fungiert der Verband Deutsches Reisemanagement e.V.(VDR) gemeinsam mit VERANSTALTUNGSPLANER.DE als Pate und nimmt nach intern festgelegten Kriterien die Auswahl und Bewertung der Kandidaten vor.

Gesamte Veranstaltungsbranche stimmt online über die Vergabe ab
Über die Vergabe der Awards entscheiden Internet-Nutzer im Rahmen eines Online-Votings, das am 22. Januar 2014 beginnt und am 31. März 2014 endet. Dazu müssen die Teilnehmer sich lediglich unter http://www.meeting-experts-award.de registrieren und die Online-Voting-Bedingungen beachten. Zusätzlich zu bereits eingestellten Listen, etwa von Hotels oder Eventagenturen, können die Teilnehmer an der Abstimmung auch eigene Vorschläge einbringen. Alle Unternehmen und Institutionen, an die sich der Award richtet, dürfen mit Mailings oder anderen Aktionen auf die Abstimmung aufmerksam machen und eigene Kunden zur Abstimmung auffordern.

„Das Prozedere der Online-Abstimmung garantiert eine große Aufmerksamkeit in der Veranstaltungsbranche. Auch die Preisverleihung während der MEXCON-Abendveranstaltung richtet den Fokus der gesamten Branche auf die Award-Gewinner. Diese neue Auszeichnung erhält dadurch insgesamt eine große Aussagekraft und einen hohen Wert”, so EVVC-Präsident Joachim König.

Meeting Experts Award
Der Meeting Experts Award ist ein Publikumspreis, der am ersten Tag der MEXCON, dem 11. Juni 2014, im CityCube Berlin verliehen wird. PACIFIC WORLD EXPANDS EUROPEAN NETWORK

After rebranding as Pacific World EMEA (www.pacificworld.com) in November 2011, the key focus of the DMC in the region has been to expand its geographic footprint. The four original destinations of Scotland, Portugal, Spain and Greece have been supplemented by the opening of new offices in Paris and Monaco on 1st February, shortly to be followed by the opening of a London office on 1st March 2013.

Shaun Casey, EMEA Regional Director comments, “We announced last year our intention to further expand into EMEA. Rather than acquiring companies, Pacific World has selected highly experienced business professionals who share the same vision in terms of customer care, creativity and operational excellence. Corinne della Rocca and Laure Maida-Bigot from Monaco and Cecile Dubeau and Laure Le Pendeven from Paris will also move from other DMCs in the region to join Pacific World as part of their expansion plans.

This recruitment activity concludes the first of a three-phase implementation for geographic expansion in the region. The next two phases will see further openings in the region within the first half of 2013 allowing Pacific World to optimize its considerable investment in a sales organization focused on both traditional and emerging source markets around the world.

<strong>Kavala Air Show
For the second year running, the Kavala Air Show is being organized by the Municipality of Kavala, in collaboration with the Region of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace and all local authorities, as well as AOPA Hellas (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association) and ‘Egnatia Aviation SA’ Flight School, on 22 – 24 June 2012, within the framework of the annual celebration «Eleftheria tis Polis».

Last year, over 20,000 people gathered along the main promenade that is over 3.5 km long. This aviation event was organized for the first time in 2011 and delighted the audience in Greece, leading to plans for its continuation. A large number of private planes and hydroplanes will arrive at the capital of Eastern Macedonia for a spectacular display.
