Elbphilharmonie Hamburg eröffnet im Januar 2017

Hamburg, März 2016 (HHT) – Hamburg hat sich als eines der beliebtesten Städtereiseziele in Europa etabliert. Mit der Eröffnung der Elbphilharmonie Hamburg am 11. und 12. Januar 2017 bietet die Stadt einen neuen, einzigartigen Reiseanlass mit internationaler Strahlkraft. Auf der Internationalen Tourismusbörse (ITB) in Berlin präsentiert sich Hamburg als Kulturmetropole und stellt das einzigartige Konzerthaus der Reiseindustrie und den Fachmedien vor.

In der HafenCity Hamburg, zwischen dem UNESCO Weltkulturerbe Speicherstadt und dem Hafen, von jeher Herz und Motor der Stadt, steht die Elbphilharmonie Hamburg mit ihrer einzigartigen Architektur für das kontrastreiche und maritime Flair der Hafenstadt, die aus Tradition und Moderne mit Mut, Kreativität, Innovationsdenken und Weltoffenheit immer wieder ihre Zukunft erfolgreich neu formt.

Drei Konzertsäle mit einem vielfältigen Musikprogramm, ein großer Musikvermittlungsbereich, die öffentliche Plaza, die den Besuchern auf 37 Metern einen überwältigenden Blick über die Stadt bietet, ein Hotel und Gastronomie werden in einem einzigartigen Gebäude vereint, wie es so nur in Hamburg möglich ist. „Das Fundament der Elbphilharmonie bilden das vielfältige kulturelle Leben in der Stadt und ihre lange Musiktradition. Darüber hinaus setzt die Hamburg Tourismus GmbH seit drei Jahren eine Internationalisierungsoffensive um, die die Servicequalität und Infrastruktur Hamburgs an die Bedürfnisse internationaler Gäste anpasst.

Konzerthaus mit klangüberwältigender Architektur
Nicht nur die beindruckende Silhouette begeistert internationale Gäste wie Hamburger – im Inneren überzeugt die Elbphilharmonie Hamburg mit klangüberwältigender Architektur. Im Herzen des Gebäudes liegt der Große Saal. Wie Weinbergterrassen sind 2100 Plätze um die zentrale Bühne angeordnet. Kein Zuhörer ist weiter als 30 Meter vom Dirigenten entfernt. Hierdurch entsteht eine intime Nähe zur Musik. Für die perfekte Akustik haben die Architekten gemeinsam mit dem Star-Akustiker Yasuhisa Toyota eine besondere Wand- und Deckenstruktur entwickelt – die Weiße Haut.

Der Große Saal wird Hamburgs vibrierender Klassikszene und Stars aus aller Welt eine spektakuläre Bühne bieten. Intendant Christoph Lieben-Seutter hebt den musikalischen Anspruch hervor: „Mit der Elbphilharmonie beginnt für die Musikstadt Hamburg eine neue Zeitrechnung. Das Konzertprogramm präsentiert die besten Künstler und Orchester aus aller Welt und bietet den Hamburger Orchestern eine internationale Plattform in der eigenen Stadt. Zielpublikum sind gleichermaßen die Hamburger Bürger und Gäste aus aller Welt. Angezogen von dem neuen architektonischen Wahrzeichen, finden sie hier vielfältige Anknüpfungspunkte für einen Konzertbesuch.“

Ausblick: Positives Investitionsklima im Tourismus hält an
Dr. Rolf Strittmatter blickt optimistisch auf das Tourismusjahr 2016: „Wir gehen von einem Übernachtungswachstum von 3 bis 5 Prozent aus und peilen mehr als 13 Mio. Übernachtungen an.“ Neben neuen Reiseimpulsen und der Schärfung des Qualitätsprofils setzt Hamburg dafür auf einen weiteren Ausbau von Fluganbindungen. Spannende Konzepte bietet der wachsende Hamburger Hotelmarkt. So werden bis 2018 insgesamt 31 Hotelprojekte mit einem Investitionsvolumen von 1 Mrd. Euro realisiert. Darunter auch das mitten in der Elbphilharmonie gelegene Hotel Westin mit 244 Zimmern, das im November 2016 eröffnet
